Ali Mostafavi supervises the UrbanResilience.AL Lab. At Texas A&M, he is a fellow of the Institute for Sustainable Communities, the Institute for Science, Technology, and Public Policy, as well as the Hazard Reduction and Recovery Center. His research focuses on analyzing, modeling, and improving network dynamics in the nexus of humans, disasters, and the built environment to foster convergence knowledge of resilient communities. He received more than $7 million in external funding (his share is over $4.5 million). He has written 85 peer-reviewed journal articles. He received several awards and honors such as an Early-career Research Fellowship from the National Academies’ Gulf Research Program and a NSF CAREER Award. Dr. Mostafavi is a member of the ASCE Infrastructure Resilience Division and an Editorial Board member of the ASCE Management in Engineering Journal.
